Professional translator specialized in Sustainable Development, Arts, Music, Subtitling, and Localization, I am collaborating with Future Earth to bring a message of hope to the future generations. My name is Brenda Moreno Espinosa and I am a self-motivated Latin woman. As a graduate of International Relations, I am passionate by the interactions between society, environment, and global security. I have collaborated with international organizations as Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Avon, and the YMCA du Quebec. For about two years, I worked in an international company translating complex engineering documents from English to Spanish.

I have worked in the environmental sector for many years. I started my career with the United Nations GEF – Small Grants Program working with environmental NGOs and indigenous peoples in Ecuador. After obtaining a Ph.D. in Political Science from The University of Connecticut I worked with ISET-International, a Boulder-based international environmental organization. I am very pleased to be now part of the Future Earth team in Colorado, and to be able to contribute to the Anthropocene Magazine with Spanish translations.
I’m a conservation scientist with over 15 years’ experience, specialized in terrestrial ecology. I believe knowledge transfer is essential to advance conservation efforts worldwide, a challenging task, among other things, because of language barriers. I joined Future Earth as a volunteer to translate meaningful research into Portuguese to help facilitate the access of Portuguese native speakers to relevant conservation-related topics.
Melanie has always been captivated about nature and environmental issues, seeking ways to incorporate all aspects of nature in her life. She is currently studying in the field of Sustainable Development in the hope of spreading awareness and inspiring a more sustainable lifestyle. She enjoys the peace and quiet of the countryside and is passionate about art and kayaking.
I am an English/Portuguese (Brazilian) translator with a background in International Relations and more than 10 years of professional experience. I am pleased to collaborate with Future Earth as a translator to make information regarding environmental issues accessible to a greater number of people and thereby enable the public to make more sustainable choices.
