It’s rare to catch a glimpse of the endangered Sierra Nevada bighorn sheep that migrate up and down the craggy peaks of eastern California. But artist Jane Kim is on a mission to increase their visibility. She has memorialized the species in five picturesque murals along California’s Highway 395, a travel corridor for both humans and bighorns.
These works of art are part of the Migrating Mural, a project to raise awareness about the conservation of rare migratory animals that traverse our landscape. Kim plans to involve other artists in future phases of the project, which will showcase endangered species that migrate under water and on the wing. Learn more about Jane Kim’s work at ink-dwell.com.
